Choosing by shape
Round rackets put the sweet spot in the middle of the face. They are the most forgiving to hit and the right starting point for your first year of play. Teardrop shapes sit in between, adding power without much loss of control — the usual choice once you are rallying consistently. Diamond shapes push the balance towards the head for maximum power on the smash, but they punish off-centre hits and ask more of your wrist and shoulder.
Choosing by budget
Our entry-level rackets start under AED 300 — enough for a genuinely playable first racket rather than a compromise. Most club players land between AED 500 and AED 900, where you get harder cores and partial carbon construction without tour-level pricing. Current-season flagship models run to around AED 1,400. If you are upgrading rather than starting out, a previous-season model of the same range is usually the better value.
A note on UAE conditions
Heat is hard on equipment. Carbon-faced frames hold their shape through a Dubai or Abu Dhabi summer better than fibreglass, and no racket should be left in a parked car. If you play outdoors year-round, spending a little more on face material tends to pay for itself in racket life.
Common questions
How much should a first padel racket cost? Between AED 250 and AED 500 buys a properly playable beginner racket. Below that, construction quality drops sharply.
How heavy should my racket be? Most rackets run 340–390g. Beginners are generally best served between 350g and 365g — light enough to manoeuvre, heavy enough to be stable.
Round, teardrop or diamond? If you have played fewer than a hundred games, round. The extra power of a diamond shape only helps once your technique is consistent enough to find the middle of the face.
