Why these two things

Most racket damage isn't from playing. It's from scraping the frame on the court reaching for low balls, and from knocks against the glass and other rackets. An edge protector absorbs those impacts instead of your frame — cheap insurance on a racket that cost you several hundred dirhams. Fit it when the racket is new, not after the first chip appears.

Grip fails faster here than most places. UAE heat and humidity degrade an overgrip considerably quicker than in temperate climates. A worn grip doesn't just feel unpleasant — it makes you squeeze harder to keep control, which accelerates arm fatigue and can contribute to wrist and elbow strain over time.
